Even though the name of my show is “Beverly Hills Groomer” that’s not the only city that I service. I groom dogs and cats in Compton just as much as I do in Inglewood and Brent Wood. I don’t want people to get the wrong impression as to why I do what I do. When you hear the name Beverly Hills one automatically thinks of wealth (as one should) and success. Beverly Hills is the representation of the ultimate level of prestige and prominence. A level that I desire to, and will attain. Its not the definition of who I am as an individual rather than a symbol of what I can and will achieve. My show is a blue print for the millions of people like me who started out with meager resources. People who have made a resolve with in themselves to reach for the stars. Not stars as in “Celebrities” but stars as in the possibilities. I’m reaching for the stars! For those of you who are doing the same. Its hard to fly with the dead weight of negativity holding you down. If you’re ready to reach for the stars, cut the cords and take flight..

I have not seen receipts written, tax planning, insurance for the van? Why would you allow your brother to work on a dog for celebrity clients that could cause you to loose business? Are you wreckless because you want to make the show interesting or you are just an informed business person.

Keep pursuing your dream, no matter what. You have the “complete package” — personality, skills and most of all, heart — the kind of heart that makes all of us watching your show root for you.

DEAR SOMONE IF YOU EVER SAY ANYTHING LIKE THIS TO MY FRIEND AGAIN, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME. YOU’RE SUCH A COWARD YOU ARE BEING RUDE ANNONYMOUSLY OOH AREN’T YOU TOUGH?
IF YOU DON’T LIKE WHAT HE’S DOING IGNORE IT. OH AND BY THE WAY, YOU’RE THE LOSER CAUSE YOU CAN’T EVEN SPELL. GET A LIFE

Dear Marva, do you really think he is not handling his affairs? can you say 2 lawyers an accountant and 2 agents? AND 3 publicists? why would he show his business transactions ON TELEVISION? it’s not good for ratings. and I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP OFFERING UNSOLOICITED ADVICE! that is what Cameron is for! why would he allow his brother to work on celebrity client dogs? CAUSE IT’S HIS BROTHER AND HIS BUSINESS. He is not wreckless, it’s called editing producers creatively cut out parts of television shows to generate interest. Please believe his business is handled, well managed and will continue to be. AS FAR AS BEING AN UNINNFROMED BUSINESS PERSON, HE IS FAR FROM IT- BELEIVE ME I KNOW I TALK TO MY FRIEND ARTIST ALL THE TIME. HE KNOWS WHAT HE WANTS TO DO AND HOW HE PLANS TO DO IT.

  7. I second everything MsLemon00 said. Someone: sounds to me you are just mad that you don’t have the guts to chase your dreams despite the criticism of others. Can any of you say television editing? How many of you are even groomers? Artist’s brothers has to start learning sometime. You can’t learn to groom properly without actually doing it. It is not like he walked off and let him groom unsupervised. So he took a bit to much hair off the foot. Even experienced groomers make little mistakes just like that. We are only human, and it is just hair. It grows back.

Agreed with Both MsLemon00 and Kristin Sanchez. Honestly people, this is television. What makes you think you will see everything being done? You should know this about reality TV by now!!! As a groomer myself, I can tell you first hand that the only way to learn to groom is to be hands on. If he’s going to become a groomer then Artist is doing exactly what he needs to do to make that happen. Also, because this is bothering me very much, I must point out that the woman from Le Paws needs to step back and take a look at reality! Grooming takes time! Even the most experienced needs a bit of time. Especially when their owners were in the van with them and you don’t know how a dog is going to react to any of the grooming. I just wish Artist would have handed her the scissors and told her to go right ahead and do it herself! She should have prioritized much better. I’m sure she should know better since she works with animals.

    Hey Artist-
Way to go! We love your show. You have a great heart for animals, and people. We have 2, two year old shih tzu’s, Rocky & Darla and we all LOVE Bumpy Johnson!! (Bumpy looks like he could be Rocky’s brother) I love Bumpy’s haircut too. We keep R & D’s ears long like Bumpy’s, but we keep the body and legs short because they love to go on walks everyday and they would be a mess. Someday when we are down in S Cal. we will look you up and check out your rig. Keep up the good work!!

    Artist,
First of all….Congrats!!!! I was glad to see that you won. I must say that of all the groomers you where the one I knew deserved to win!!! You may not have been the most experienced or even the best groomer but you were the groomer that was a real person instead of the jerry springer personalities around you!!! I am a groomer and I love what I do and hope you stay with it!!!! It’s a tough business for people that first see the dog and then money!!! I will tell you there are many ways to satisfy the first and still get the second!!! I always say that critisism is my best friend and I know you are getting the worst(not all deserving) But I must tell you that before you can be a teacher you must be experienced in all fields of the grooming world!!! Meaning…. Customer relations with a business sense(the people teaching you on T.V.are not groomers and see themoney you need to make without knowing how a dogs owner and there dog can be!!) You can be yourself to a certain extent ….. the dog comes first and you know that you are a good groomer that they will be safe and happy with! I learned that the first meeting with a new customer is tricky and sometimes the most impossible customers turn out to be the best in the long run! Being able to teach someone to groom is one thing and Please don’t take this wrong but experience has taught me that people are not always who they seem (even family)!!!! Always remember that you are putting someones Bumpy in there hands that you deemed safe! I have seen alot of bad things and the worst was a “groomer” started at the shop I worked in and being the most experience groomer with the ability to recognize what is talk and what is actual without being to sweet or to mean…… She was placed next to me without knowing I was to oversee her! Well She was very convincing of her abilities and just nervous being in a high profile shop and I gave her the benefit of the doubt and taught her nifty tricks on how to comfort a dog and still get the groom done at the same time!!! I recommended she bathe for a while to get more comfortable with the fast enviorment and give me time to give my recommendatations on her working as a groomer that I felt she never was!!! Well I was right and she just walked out with out anyone seeing in the middle of a busy day! The worst part is that with the little i showed her and the little she picked up watching me fix her grooms(she still got paid for) she went back to her bathing job and given a grooming job on our shops credit! One strangled to death dog and one dead puppy with a snapped neck later! She was fired and the company paid off the owners to keep quiet(bad publicity)!!! I only know cuz my sister worked at another store the company owned and knew I need to know what I did!!!! It doesn’t matter that if I hadn’t taught her someone else would! I recommended to my boss to just let her go cuz her inability to groom and her inability to learn patience was overwhelming and i feared she might hurt a dog or even a customer!!! I haven’t taght much sense but you I can see would be worth the time!!! Goodluck you will get there…..

  11. Mskatzy says:

Artist, I notice on your show that you never put your seat belt on when you are in the grooming van. You do know the CA law, and for your own safety, please wear your seat belt like your brother does

  12. MsLemon00 says:

    DEAR MSKATZY
YES ARTIST KNOWS CA LAW- HE’S ONLY LIVED HERE ALL HIS LIFE. WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE COME HERE TO TELL HIM STUFF HE ALREADY KNOWS? WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE FAIL TO REALIZE THIS IS A TV SHOW? EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF HIS DAY WILL NOT AIR. OOOH HE WASN’T WEARING A SEATBELT…..I’LL BET IF THAT WAS A HABIT HE KEPT UP, THERE WOULD BE FOOTAGE OF HIM GETTING A TICKET, BUT THERE ISN’T.

  13. Janice says:

    MsLemon00,
I’m with you all the way on ALL of your comments. Some people in life thrive on negative. They live to be miserable but obviously will never acknowledge it. They can’t stand it when someone like Artist comes around who tries so hard to be positive and no matter how bad things get, he keeps trying and fighting instead of doing the “woe is me.”
They are jealous cuz no matter how hard these negative people try, they can never be as human as Artist is.

  14. MsLemon00 says:

    Janice,
RIGHT ON! I Hope that people who come to this site and read his blog understand the purpose you know? I love my friend a lot as I am sure people can see. I not only DESPISE people who make unnecessary suggestions and assume that what they see is all they get; which is not the case as anyone should be able to perceive. I am never going to stop defending my friend and I invite anyone with something negative to say to direct it at me because I will make the time to inform them of what is really going on. Thank YOU Janice for seeing Artist for who he really is. :)

  15. Luanne says:

I can’t believe someone would be so cruel to someone who had won a contest fair and square and was judged by professionals in the field. I’m just disappointed that I sat down in June to watch Artist on Beverly Hills Groomer and wasn’t able to see all the episodes. I didn’t see it on the tv listings anymore and wondered what happened to it. Will they finish showing the episodes? I truly hope so. I am supportive of anyone who is trying to make a living in these hard times. Good luck and God Bless!

    Hi artist,
It’s good to see that you are the one that won the show, cause i never saw the last episode. And then all of a sudden ther is Beverly Hills Groomer! Well done, you were always my favorite!

And that ‘someone’, i wouldn’t be surprised if he is a LOSER you beat in the show. That person is just jealous. All i can say about a comment like that is: just suck it up and get grooming.

It’s really nice that you involve your family like that and that you do all charitywork. You have a good heart! You really deserve this chance.

    Keep up the good work
